Even Health Coaches Get Off Track: Coming Home to My Own Health Journey

Here’s how I’m resetting my own midlife health with simple lifestyle shifts and a renewed focus on balance.
Recently I’ve felt a little off track — busy, distracted, and not quite myself. Plus, I’m recovering from a recent bout of pneumonia! Even as a health coach, I have to remind myself that wellness isn’t a straight line. It’s a cycle — and it’s okay to begin again.
As I’ve been guiding clients through my Grounded & Glowing Reset, I started revisiting my own Reset Checklist. It didn’t take long to see that my sleep and stress management were the first areas that needed attention. It’s amazing how much clarity returns when you take care of those basics.
I’m also updating my lab work and visiting my practitioner next week. Honestly, part of my stress came from putting off scheduling my appointment. I’m a midlife health coach with a high A1C and cholesterol numbers — what? I had to talk myself off the ledge and remind myself that my body at 54 isn’t the same as it was 5 or 10 years ago. And that’s exactly what I tell my clients too.
So I’m doing something about it. I’m getting my labs done to have concrete data and creating my own Individualized Health Plan (IHP) to guide my next steps.
If you’ve been feeling off balance, you’re not alone. Sometimes the best midlife reset starts with one small shift — like improving your sleep routine or making a simple to-do list for your health.
As I dive deeper into my Grounded & Glowing Reset, I’m reminded how powerful these simple shifts can be. And if you’re ready to get back on track before the holidays, stay tuned — I’m taking you on this journey with me!
