How to Have a Kick Ass Morning Routine

Want to start your day feeling energized, focused, and ready to take on the world—or at least the coffee maker? ☕️ It all begins with your morning routine. And yes, small habits really do set the tone for your entire day and even help you crash hard (in a good way) at night 😴.


Here’s the deal:


  • Wake up at a consistent time ⏰ Your body loves routine. So does your alarm clock, even if you don’t. Bonus points if you don’t hit snooze… more than twice 🙈.


  • Get some natural daylight ASAP ☀️ Melatonin hates sunlight so get outside, open those blinds, or pretend your morning coffee tastes better by a sunny window 🌞.


  • Drink water before coffee 💧 Hydrate first, then caffeinate. Your body will thank you (even if your brain protests) 🤪.


  • Fast for at least 12 hours overnight 🛌 Give your digestive system a break and wait a little before your first meal. When you do eat, aim for protein, healthy fats, and fiber so you don’t end up hangry by 10 a.m. 🍳🥑🍓


  • Move your body 🚶‍♀️ Whether it’s gentle stretching, yoga, a walk, or some strength training, get the blood flowing. Even if that just means chasing after your dog or avoiding the cat on the stairs 🐕🐈.


To make your mornings flow better than your first cup of coffee ☕️, try this prep the night before:


  • Clean the kitchen (because dishes don’t do themselves) 🧼

  • Set out your clothes (yes, even the socks) 🧦

  • Make your lunch (your future self will thank you) 🥪
