Spring Cleaning… Your Pantry!

Spring is here, and while you might be thinking about decluttering your closet or scrubbing baseboards (or, let’s be honest, thinking about it but not actually doing it), let’s start with something that directly impacts your health—your pantry!

I’m all about small shifts that make a big difference. Instead of an overwhelming overhaul, let’s focus on swapping the bad for the better.

Here are 10 simple pantry upgrades:

🥨 Swap: Processed crackers → Raw nuts or seed-based crackers

🍝 Swap: White pasta → Whole grain, chickpea, or lentil pasta

🍚 Swap: White rice → Brown rice or riced cauliflower

🥫 Swap: Canned soups → Broth-based homemade or low-sodium versions

🍞 Swap: White bread → Sprouted grain or sourdough bread

🥤 Swap: Sugary drinks → Herbal teas, flavored sparkling water, or lemon water

🧂 Swap: Regular table salt → Sea salt or Himalayan pink salt

🍯 Swap: Refined sugar → Raw honey, maple syrup, or monk fruit

🥜 Swap: Peanut butter with added sugar → Natural almond or peanut butter (just nuts & salt!)

🥫 Swap: Vegetable oil → Avocado oil or extra virgin olive oil

Want to take it a step further?

Read the labels—check for added sugars, fiber, and protein.

Ask yourself: “Is this food helpful or harmful?”

Think in terms of Good, Better, Best—every upgrade counts!

And remember, when cleaning out your pantry, you have three choices—eat it, throw it away, or give it away. The goal isn’t perfection but progress toward healthier habits. 💪🌱
